Hello,

Severe pain in the neck commonly occurs due to poor posture, long hours of desk work, neck strain, cervical spondylosis, spinal stenosis, degenerative disc disease, osteoarthritis, neck injury, etc.

You are suggested to visit an orthopedic doctor or a GP, get physically examined. Get X-Ray & Imaging tests done.

To get relieved you can take painkillers, analgesic/NSAIDS i.e., Naproxen Or Combiflam when required.

Your treatment will depend upon the severity of the pathology detected.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
