Suggest Treatment For Severe Pain, Swelling And Discoloration In The Foot

I woke up on 10/11with severe pain in my left foot. My foot was swollen and discolored. The pain was primarily on the top of the foot and I could not flex it. I felt an extreme tightness in the skin. A visit to urgent care revealed the possibility of a bruised blood vessel. The swelling deceased, but is still visible to date. The pain is still there, but not as severe. Followed instructions of rest, elevation and ice. On yesterday severe pain returned and lump appeared on top of foot. ER visit said it was a foot sprain. X-Ray taken both times. All clear. This is not normal. There was no trauma done to foot. This is no sprain. Pain is extreme. Can you please help me? What is wrong with .my foot?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As a first line management, you can take analgesics like paracetamol or aceclofenac for pain relief.

If symptoms persists you can consult an orthopedician and get evaluated. Detailed evaluation is required including an MRI scan.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
