General & Family Physician 's  Response
Good afternoon. I have read your husband history. He seems to have cervical lymphnode infection. If I were his treating doctor, I will check his tonsils, gum, ears , teeth to see focus of infection. I will treat him with
1) Antibiotic ,Augmentin 1g 2 times a day for 7 days( if he is not allergic to penicillin or augmentin). This is a prescription medicine.
2) Take rest and have plenty fluids.
3) Eat soft foods so that he dont have to chew much.
4) Take some anti inflammatory like ibubrufen.

If still not feeling better, then he will have to be investigated further by blood tests and imaging. Hope this will help you.
