Hello, for severe acne or acne which is refractory to treatment with topical meds for 3 months, becomes an indication for isotretinoin. I would adv you to consult ur dermatologist for the prescription of cap isotretinoin, a course of 6-8 months is usually given, baseline inv. req. before its prescription are liver function tests and fasting lipid profile. This along with topical meds will resolve ur lesions. Important to note is that doxycycline shouldnot be continued with isotretinoin as the combo confers an increased risk for pseudotumor cerebri (raised intracranial pressure). Thanks Hope you get well soon
