General & Family Physician 's  Response
As per your history is concerned first do these tests to be sure she is suffering from postpartum depression or not by this simple tool which we follow normally it is called as (Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale)and check her scale. Before starting any treatment correct hemoglobin and TSH level by checking blood.
DRUGs that can be used as first line is as follows-( fluoxetine [Prozac] 10-60 mg/day, sertraline [Zoloft] 50-200 mg/day, paroxetine [Paxil] 20-60 mg/day, citalopram [Celexa] 20-60 mg/day, or escitalopram [Lexapro] 10-20mg/day).
For puerperal postpartum psychosis have bipolar disorder. Acute treatment includes a mood stabilizer (eg, lithium, valproic acid, carbamazepine) in combination with antipsychotic medications and benzodiazepines.
Electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) (often bilateral) is well tolerated and rapidly effective.
For Breastfeeding and Psychotropic Medications follow medication literatures
