Suggest Treatment For Severe Rashes On The Body

Hello, My son has developed some sort of rash that I cannot figure out what it is. This started just a few days ago after it seems that a mosquito did a number on him. The bump is raised and hard and the first one that appeared scabbed over after a day or so. We have not made any major changes, only changed the detergent his clothes are washed in and the soap we bathe him with. Not sure if these are an allergic reaction to the mosquito bites or a skin rash. He also attends daycare. Rash began before he was vaccinated for hep A and mmrv. He has a few more that are hard but the bumps have not appeared yet. I can attach pictures. Thanks.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi

The rashes and scab needs to be examined.Any history of fever should be ruled out since viral infections can also cause rashes. The age of the child has not been mentioned.

General management of allergic insect bite include antihistamines and steroids to reduce any hypersensitivity reactions.

In case of viral infections, antiviral drugs and supportive management is essential.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
