Suggest Treatment For Severe Rectal Bleeding

my husband has rectal bleeding and it has been going on 3 weeks now. he showed me and it was like a woman on her period and he said the blood came out before the bowl movement did. there is a lot when he wipes too. what could be causing this. this is not the first time this has happened.

What is his age? Any pain while defecation?
Most probable differentials include hemorrhoids , anal fissure, diverticulosis , any tumor in rectum etc.
He needs to be examined by surgeon for proper clinical examination.
stay calm and use soft diet with laxatives.
