Suggest Treatment For Severe Recurring Hidradenitis

I have a severe case of hidradenitis and it seems during the summer months this disease just attacks me. Every time I go to the Doctor they say that all they can do is give me more antibiotics (that don t work) and cut me open to hep drain some of the liquid. I know there is no real cure out there but how is a guy like me suppose to live a comfortable life when he is always covered in large and extremely painful sores. The option they gave me seemed like a pretty extensive surgery which may or may not fix the problem as I have many sinus tracts all through the infected area that go in real deep. They want to remove all infected areas of my skin and replace it with a graph. Have you had any positive experiences with this?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

* As per my clinical experience, the hydradenitis is a condition due to hyper functioning of sweat glands from various reasons. Guidelines for the same

- avoiding exposure to excess or prolong sunlight

- avoid stress and anxiety
- abstinence from smoking if involved
- maintain hydration with plenty of liquids
- control of blood sugar
- control body weight and serum cholesterol levels
- rule out allergic conditions of various types
- culture swab report of the sebum for microbiological diagnosis.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel
