Suggest Treatment For Severe Skin Rashes And Sore Throat

I developed a severe skin rash Monday night on my thighs. It itched a lot, I put lotion on my thighs then went to bed. This morning the rash had spread to everywhere except for my face and lower legs below my knees. The worst area was still the thighs. Somewhat concurrently, I developed a sore throat (Sunday night) in which it has been difficult to swallow, with the inside of my throat/neck feeling sore and swollen. Not sure if these two things are related. ALSO, during the course of this afternoon, I ve started feeling achy over most of my body (with increased itching on my back/butt). I have been taking Amoxicillin for a tooth extraction I had on 2/17. As far as I know, I have no known allergies to food or medicines, or anything else, for that matter. I have an email in to my Dr. but haven t heard back yet. Thank you.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms are consistent with pharyngitis.

Consult a general practitioner and start a short course of antibiotics preferably Amoxclav.

Do warm saline gargles for symptomatic relief.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
