Suggest Treatment For Severe Sore Throat And Swollen Lymph Nodes

My husband has had a severe sore throat for 5 days. He has no other symptoms but a slight fever that comes and goes. We have gone to the ER 4 days ago and his regular doctor 2 days ago. They both have ruled out strep, but his regular doctor gave him antibiotics anyway. He is not getting better. His glands are visibly swollen

Hi..
Can understand your concern..

As per your complain if you are diagnosed with strep throat which is a bacterial infection antibiotics is the drug of choice as antibiotics acts against bacteria.

As you have described that its just 2 days you started with the antibiotics it can take a bit longer for getting relief and you should continue to take the medicine as the antibiotics gives better results if complete course if taken..

In case of mild fever you can take Calpol or paracetamol for relief as well as it will relieve throat pain too....

For relief in throat pain you can also do warm saline gargles..

You can take one glass hot milk with a pinch of turmeric boiled with it at bed time for 5 days as it has antimicrobial action..

Avoid spicy and rough food..

Take soft diet..

Sip on luke warm water for the whole day..

Throat lozenges can be relieving...
