Suggest Treatment For Severe Sun Burn On Ears

Hi I ve been working construction the last three days and have had a lot of recent sun exposure. However today my ears also became sunburned and are now physically hot and swelling behind the ears. I would normally ignore the sunburn until the next day but I have never had sunburned ears this bad before and I am concerned about possibly long lasting side-effects. Is there any immediate concern or should I proceed as I would with a normal sunburn?

Hi,

I can understand your concern for sunburn occuring off and on. The sun exposed skin becomes red and swollen. There may be burning and itching sensation. You may feel discomfort. As your work, you should take precautions to protect your skin from the sun. You may apply sunscreen of high SPF. To recover existing condition, you may take steroids in tappering doses and antihistaminics. Apply mild steroid cream at night on lesions. Avoid soap bath.

I hope this would help you.

Thanks.
