Suggest Treatment For Severe Throat Pain And Ear Ache In A Child

My 5 year old fell at a graduation party on the slippery dance floor, he somehow landed hard on his left ear and the underneath of his chin ....now he s complaining and crying his throat hurts, he won t eat because it hurts so bad, shoukd I take him to the er?

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history about your 5 year old child who fell hard on the floor and got hurt on the ear and chin and now he is unable to eat and says that the throat is hurting.
This means that there is a possibility of trauma to the throat direct or indirect and I would advise you to take him to the ER as he can go into dehydration faster than an adult.
Secondly needs, clinical evaluation, examination and MRI of the area to see the internal trauma as to why it is painful.
And treat accordingly.
Please do not force-feed him.
