Suggest Treatment For Severe Throat Pain And Ear Ache

I was swimming and I was kicked full force in the throat. It took my a few seconds to get my breath back and now my throat hurts and when I swallow a sharp pain goes down thorough my throat and down the my breast and up to my ear. Should I go to the ER?

Hi Dear ,

As per your query you have throat injury during swimming and now you have throat pain and ear pain . Well throat injury sometimes can be life threatening . Sometimes due to sudden blow to throat air go through eustachian tube with pressure and can do inliry to ear drum . If you have beathing difficulty , difficulty in speaking , bleeding and severe pain in throat and ear then consult ENT specialist without any delay . Doctor may order CT sca, MRI , X-ray and examination with otoscope and laryngoscope to rule out any serious damage to trachea and other vital structure . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics , anti inflammatory and may perform surgical procedure .
