General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Indomethacin is not an antibiotic so it will not fight infection, it is an anti-inflammatory drug and will help with pain and swelling.
If you are not improving you will need the doctor to examine your finger again because another antibiotic might be needed to treat the infection.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj,
