Suggest Treatment For Severe Thumb Pain

My right thumb cracks at the joint when I bend it also it pains a lot at time especially in the morning when I wake up or during the nights. I did an xray already and there are no signs of arthritis or any other problems, however, I know that there is a problem because of what I feel. Can you help? Thanks
