Suggest Treatment For Severe Tinnitus And Blocked Feeling In Ears

I have severe tinnitus for over 2 weeks, had spring allergies and was taking Claritin D when tinnitus began. After one week, went to ENT and took prednisone pack for one week along with 2 nasal sprays Flonase and Patanase twice a day. Now ringing is still very bad and dr prescribed one 5mg Valium a day to try for a few days . I was previously taking Zanax to sleep and Lunesta if needed. I have been off Lunesta for a few days and last night took only the Valium and felt very anxious and could not sleep, finally slept an hour, ringing may have been slightly lower in the am but is back at full volume. I just took the Valium and pharmacist said I can take a Zanax if need to sleep as it will be 11 hours later. My ears feel blocked, still taking Claritin D. My husband( a dentist) thinks I should take Benedryl but that knocks me out for 3 days. This ringing is making me crazy. Any ideas?
