Suggest Treatment For Severe Tooth And Gum Infection In Upper Right Side

I have a sever tooth/gum infection in the upper right side of my face. The pain is almost unbearable and it radiates up into my nose and forehead! I have had this condition since Friday and today is the worse. I can't get into my clinic until Tuesday nite! I have some heart issues/family heart disease. So should I be afraid to delay taking care of this? I've heard all the horror stories about tooth infections, blood streams, and your heart!

Hi..
Thanks for the query..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern.

As per your complain and presentation of symptoms it seems that you have a deep infection in tooth causing inflammation and irritation of nerves leading to severe pain and pain in nose and forehead is radiating pain.

It is true that in very rare instances tooth infection can lead to infection in the inner layer of heart causing BACTERIAL ENDOCARDITIS but the instances are very less..

You should consult ENDODONTIST and get evaluated and treatment can be done accordingly.
But in case if you are unable to reach a dentist atleast you should start taking antibiotics like Amoxicillin and anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen for pain relief but only after consulting your physician who is treating you for your heart disease.

Once you can consult your dentist and get evaluated and get an x ray done and in case if tooth can be saved Root Canal Treatment can be done but in case if there is extensive decay Extraction can be done followed by antibiotics and painkillers.

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards..
