Suggest Treatment For Severe Tooth Pain

Hi I've had severe pain for days in my front teeth that is radiating across my mouth. I feel a small inflamed area behind one of my teeth in my gums. That tooth is the only one that hurts when I touch it but the pain radiates to other teeth. I cannot make a dentist appointment until tomorrow and I can barely eat. I was wondering if you have any advice on what I can do now for the pain and what the issue might be? I have been chewing a lot of sugar free gum lately and at first thought the pain was just from chewing a lot but the pain has gotten worse.

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain in case if you have pain in a single tooth that is also radiating to other teeth along with an inflamed area in gums of that tooth can be due to either deep decay in tooth leading to formation of a Dental Abscess doe to accumulation of pus under the root tips of the tooth..
Other reason can be deep infection in the gums that might be reaching the root tips of tooth and also causing retrograde infection in tooth ( from the roots to the crown)..
I would suggest you to consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated along with an x ray to confirm the cause and treatment can be done accordingly..
In case of tooth infection Root Canal treatment followed by antibiotics and painkillers will relieve..
In case of gum infection Scaling and curettage followed by antibiotics and painkillers and topical application of antimicrobial ointment and antiseptic mouthwash gargles will help..
As of now you can take higher painkillers like Ketorolac or TRAMADOL to relieve pain..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
