Suggest Treatment For Severe Tooth Pain

Yes. My sister is having progressively increased pain with all her teeth. Started a couple weeks ago and has become severe. Went to see an immediate med facility today and they are treating for a sinus infection. What other issues display like symptoms?

Hello,

I can understand your concern. If only one tooth is paining and is increasing in intensity, it might be due to decayed tooth that may require root canal treatment or extraction depending on the extent of the decay.

However, here is a different issue of pain in all teeth. If the pain is in all upper teeth and not in lower teeth, that might indeed be due to sinus infection and treatment of sinusitis can resolve the pain.

If she is having pain in all upper and lower teeth, then it might be due to pyorrhea or recession of gum or other issue related to health of gums. This can be confirmed by a consultation and clinical examination by a dentist.

To conclude, if she is having pain in only upper teeth, she should continue with the sinusitis treatment and if the pain is in upper and lower all teeth, then dentist should consulted and treatment of gums should be started.

If she is in pain right now, she can take Ibuprofen 400 mg up to thrice a day for relief.

I hope this information helps you. Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic. I wish your sister feels better soon.

Best,
Dr. Viraj Shah
