Suggest Treatment For Severe Upper Leg Pain

Hi last night as I was about to fall asleep, I got a very bad pain in the back of my upper leg just above the knee. I got up to try to walk it off but my leg gave out. I do get cramps in my feet but this felt different, like maybe in a vein. It lasted about 10 min , I put heat on it and it was fine. Is this anything to be concerned about?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to muscle cramps.

I recommend using muscle relaxants such as Baclofen three times a day.

I also recommend using anti-inflammatory medication such as Voltaren gel for local application.

Heat compresses can also be helpful.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
