Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I saw my doctor a few weeks ago and was diagnosed with Vertigo. It is an extreme case which is now causing me to lose work. I have not just 1 but several symptoms from it; nausea and dizziness are the worse. Antivert is no longer cutting it. Is there a medication that can be taken daily for this?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have severe vertigo which could occur due to middle ear infection , some kind of growth in middle ear or fluid in middle ear, inflammation within the inner ear and acoustic neuroma. You should not ignore this , because sometimes the condition get complicated. For now take proper rest , do not bend forward and do light exercise. You should start with antibiotics, steroids and labrynthine sedatives for 6 to 8 weeks following vestibular rehabilitation exercises. All this needs clinical evaluation and medical assistance. Consult with your ENT specialist and get evaluated. Doctor may order audiometry test and tuning fork test and treat it accordingly .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
