Suggest Treatment For Sharp Chest Pain And Cough

Hello. Yesterday I had a light / sharp pain (that came and went) in my upper chest near my clavicle. I have also felt a slight fluttering feeling now and then. Now today I have a cough that is coming and going. Originally this morning it felt like it may have had to do with sinuses draining but it s become more dry as the day has gone on. Any ideas? Or should I be going to see someone?

Hi welcome to Health Care Magic.
I have gone through your query & can understand your concern.

Sharp chest pain on coughing is commonly seen in pleurisy (inflammation of pleura). Other Common causes are Lung infection such as pneumonia, bronchitis etc. All of these are common in smokers.

So better to consult pulmonologist and get done clinical examination of respiratory system, chest x ray and PFT (Pulmonary Function Test).
Chest x ray is needed to rule out lung infection.

If you are smoker, In any case smoking cessation is must.
In mean time you could take painkiller and muscle relaxant drugs.

Hope I have solved your query.
Wish you good health. Thanks.
