Suggest Treatment For Sharp Chest Pain And Painful Left Arm
I have been diagnosed with acid reflux several years ago and take generic Prilosec for it. for about 3 weeks now I have been having sudden sharp pains in my chest they only last a very short time. today I have had aprox 4 and now I have achiness in my left arm and some tingling in my left hand.
Hello! Thank you for your question on HCM! I understand your concern. In my opinion the symptoms you have may be caused by different causes like: -muscular inflammation -inflammation of pancreas (pancreatitis), which may be induced also by Prilosec -coronary artery disease -a cervical disk problem, compressing the nerve going to the left hand. - an aortal dissection - a pulmonary disorder So I would recommend you to consult with your GP, have a physical examination and a blood analysis, with amylase levels and liver and renal function tests. A chest x-ray and an ECG are important to examine the lungs, aorta and the heart. A cervical column xray may be necessary to examine this region for possible displacement of the disks. Further examinations may be needed to establish the cause. Hope to have been of help! Greetings! Dr. Aida
