I have been experiencing sharp ear pain in my right ear only that started while on vacation, after a plane trip. I ve had fluid in the ear before so I immediately starting taking Mucinex, hoping to clear it up along with Tylenol and/or Motrin for the pain. Upon my return, I called my doctor who prescribed an antibiotic and Flonase. After three days on the antibiotic without any marked improvement, I was able to see my doctor who looked in the ear and didn t see anything wrong in the eardrum. She told me to wait another week, but the pain is uncomfortable enough that it will wake me up from a sound sleep and I need to take anti inflammatory pills round the clock. Now, I think I ve got some numbness around the ear along with a little tingling in my hand. What s going on?!!!
