Suggest Treatment For Sharp Pain Below Left Buttocks And Immobility After Falling
Last night, I fell in the lobby of my building, running for the elevator. When I got up, I was in excruciating pain. I could not stand erect but had to lean on the wall of the elevator. It was very painful to walk from the elevator to my apartment. The area of pain is between my left buttock down to my left thigh. I took 2 Aleve pills and iced the affected areas for several hours. Today, I still have limited mobility in my left leg. I can walk but have to drag my left foot/leg. The range of motion in my left leg is limited. I cannot rotate that leg without feeling pain and when I attempt to bend from the waist, I cannot bend far as I feel a great deal of pain on the back thigh. I tried poking at various points on the affected area and locate some sensitive spots but no severe sharp pain. Is it possible I may have fractured a bone or a tor ligament or a sprain? What other possible injuries could there be? I will see my DO tomorrow morning. In the meantime, I am about to take Tramadol 50 mg as I am out of Aleve. Please let me know your thoughts about possible extends of my injury. Thanks. Steve

Hi, You need to do an X-ray of the affected area before any saying, but I think it is just a hematoma. It will persist for another few days. Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards, Dr. Salah Saad Shoman, Internal Medicine Specialist
