Suggest Treatment For Sharp Pain In The Lower Ribcage

My wife has a sharp pain in her lower right rib cage. It started a few days ago and has progressively gotten worse. She has had no trama or injury. If she lays still the pain isn't so bad but moving or taking a beep breath causes sharp pain. Last night she used a heat pillow that helped relieve some of the pain. Any clues??? Should she see a Dr.
