Suggest Treatment For Sharp Stomach Pain And Diarrhea

About a month ago my wife and i had chicken cordon blu. Not long after I had a very sharp stomach pain and diareah. No vomitting or fever. My wife had no reaction. I just figured it was bad chicken but now a month later I am still having loose stool. I am going to the bathroom after every meal and many times in between. Do you think I have a stomach virus from salmonila or something more serious?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you are having symptoms of sharp stomach pain and diarrhea. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like gastroenteritis , food poisoning , irritable bowel syndrome , lactose intolerance or intestinal ileus. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to consult gastroenterologist for proper examination . Doctor may order stool test , ultrasound , endoscopy along with that take history . Doctor may prescribe laxative , ornidazole or albendazole along with ranitidine. Drink plenty of fluids. You should take proper course of antacid along with proton pump inhibitors. You should eat light and non spicy. You should avoid food like seafood and nuts. You should take antacid after every meal and keep your head elevated while lying down.
