Suggest Treatment For Shingles Mediated Sore And Itching
I think I have Shingles . I understand that shingles are caused by a virus, and peole who had Chicken Pox are more likely to get shingles. I had chicken pox as a child, and when under stress, am prone to getting cold sores , which I also understand are caused by a Herpes virus. How long do the sores and itching from shingles last, unless medicine is applied? I plan on seeing a doctore in the next couple days, as well. Thank you for ytour reply.
Hi, I have gone through your query and I can understand your concerns. Shingles is the reactivation of chickenpox virus and it may cause severe pain and discomfort. Generally the rashes last for about two weeks but you might experience severe pain for long period termed as post herpetic neuralgia. The duration of the illness does not depend on the treatment because treatment is aimed only to reduce symptoms. I suggest you to consult a general practitioner for proper treatment Hope this helps
