Suggest Treatment For Shortness Of Breath And Pain In The Ribs

I have a pacemaker that was checked 5 months ago and I only use it 2% of the time my battery life should be good for another 8 years but the leads are now 19 years old the pacemaker 7yrs old. Lately I am having shortness of breath tightness in the chest and pain in the rib area when being active. today I have felt dizzy and had palpitations. I have had eco test as well as lung test and nothing is showing up. Could it be related to the leads and should I go and have another pacemaker check I am not due to have it tested again till February 2018.

Hi,

I would advise you to do a CT scan chest and 2D echocardiography test.

Also take bronchodilator drug.
