Suggest Treatment For Shortness Of Breath In An Asthma Patient
I have ashma but lately the shortness of breath comes more frequent and I have to grab my inhailer. Also across my chest their is pain, throbbing that goes down both of my arms at the same time that affects my sleeping and I have to put a pillow under my arms to sleep. Yesterday still shortness of breath with vomiting all night. Nausea feeling now. Could this be a symptom of a clogged artery.
1. If recently, attacks are frequent in spite of inhalers, use Mast cell stabiliser (ketotifen)
2. Shortness of breath on lying down and relieved with pillow under head call for Chest X-ray and Electrocardiogram to exclude any cardiac involvement and also opinion from a chest specialist regarding CT- chest to exclude any embolus inside artery.
3. Bronchial Asthma is one example of psychosomatic illness, so tranquility of mind is important part of treatment.
4. Acute exacerbations are usually due to infection and are related to change in weather.
5. After acute attack is over:
. Practice deep breathing exercises. . Avoid all allergens. . Avoid deep fried foods and too cold foods . Avoid heavy meals, eat small frequent meals. . Take more of sweet fruits and leafy vegetables.
