Hello and welcome to HCM,
A history of bilateral knee replacement 10 years back and currently shortness of breath along with swelling in left leg and ankle is suspicious for deep vein thrombosis (DVT).
A doppler ultrasound of the lower limbs is required to look for evidence of thrombus in the deep veins.
Shortness of breath can be due to thrombus lodging in the pulmonary vasculature.
Thus, consult your doctor for clinical assessment, investigations and thus management.

Thanks and take care
