Suggest Treatment For Shortness Of Breath, Tightness In Chest And Breathing Problems
I don t drink soda often. When I do, I have shortness of breath. My chest is tight and I feel like I can t get a full breath. I ve taken many breathing treatments and it doesn t seem to be working. Can soda cause problems with my breathing? I greatly appreciate you taking the time to read my question. Thank you.
Soda is a sparkling drink and it may cause you to have GERD and stomach acids to regurgitate in your throat. This may cause the stomach acids to end up in your airways as well and cause aspiration pneumonia. This is a possible way that soda may affect your lungs and cause your symptoms.
If this happens only with soda, you do not need to worry. You just need to avoid soda. If these symptoms come up with other drinks or food or sometimes seem unrelated to anything, tests are needed to make sure your lungs are well and functioning properly.
I hope this answers your query. I remain at your disposal for further medical assistance.
