Cardiologist 's  Response
Hi,

I guess she is not on any drugs. She being an athlete, her rate would be low. Still other causes like thyroid illness and age related issues should be evaluated. Probably cardiologist will get one holter monitoring done and determine the minimal heart she gets in 24 hours period and accordingly advise. She will mostly undergo surgery and probably cardiologist will clear her surgery, unless some serious issue is found, which is less likely.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Sagar Makode
