Suggest Treatment For Side Effects Of Celexa

Celexa was recommended for my anxiety and depression. I am highly sensitive to meds. After 1 dose-10mg.- I felt unwell; mildly nauseous and more anxious. My doctor suggested trying 5 mg, and wants me to stick with it . Should I; any suggestions for the best way to take it with least side effects? Thank you, Sally

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi
Thanks for posting on HCM
Antidepressants in most cases cause many unpleasant side effects. For many people, these symptoms improve within a few weeks of therapy. However, when symptoms are not tolerable, your Doctor may consider adjusting your dose or discontinuing treatment. But this should only be the decision of your Doctor.I will suggest you try 5 mg and report to your Doctor. If the symptoms still persist and are unbearable, he may consider switching to a different drug after evaluating the risk and the benefits.
Hope my answer will help you
Best regards
