Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
One of my friend has been prescribed with fludac 20 mg everyday night once. My friend is talking it continuously for 3 months. Now the problem is if it is stopped, it gives him several other problem like severe headache and weakness. Also it gives a kind of feeling that there is no co-ordination with other parts of the body. Now when it is taken regularly , in that case also sometimes these symptoms persists. Need help and guidance what should be done.
Your friend is experiencing withdrawal symptoms of Fludac. Fludac 20 should be taken at the same time & should not be stopped without informing the treating physician.
It has withdrawal symptoms so the doses have to be tapered for a few weeks & then the spacing should be further increased to reduce chances of aggressive withdrawal symptoms.
Get connected to your treating physician & follow the instructions as given. The medication when tapered properly does not cause symptoms.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Nupur K, General & Family Physician
