Suggest Treatment For Silver Shell Stuck In The Throat

My 6 year old got a silver from a sun flower shell stuck in his throat around his tonsil area. I can see it, but am unable to get it out. He drank lots of water, tried eating a few different foods to get it out, but it s still there. He went to sleep in hopes that it will fall out on its own. Should I be concerned about infection? Does he need to be seen by his pedi?
