Suggest Treatment For Sinus Infection And Severe Dizziness

I've been feeling very jittery for the last week and a half to two weeks. I've had a sinus infection, had one steroid shot almost two weeks ago, taking Cipro now but started on cefnidir which what I thought was the problem. My heart feels like it's beating hard. Had a real bad dizzy spell a week ago as well.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern.

As per your complain and presentation of symptoms Cefnidir which is a Cephalosporin causing dizziness is due to side effect of Cefnidir and as you have got relieved after stopping the intake of this drug it further clarifies that it was causing side effect.

As you have a hard beating heart or Palpitations after taking Ciprofloxacin, it is also a side effect of the drug and you need to consult your treating physician and get evaluated and if required the drug has to be changed with other broad spectrum antibiotics like Augmentin or Clindamycin etc.

He/she can also advise you to get a blood investigation done for allergic testing so that the suitable antibiotics can be advised to you that will not cause allergic reaction.
Along with medication you can do steam inhalations, use a humidifier in your room and saline nasal sprays can help in relieving the symptoms..

But getting checked for an antibiotic that will not cause allergic reaction is must for proper treatment and avoiding any serious side effects.
