Suggest Treatment For Sinus Infection

how often per day and how many days should I take nitrofur-macr 100mg...for a sinus infection....??? unfortunately, I am very proned to candida....and already had to take diflucan for yeast.....so I know this also has a bearing on the effectiveness of the antibiotic.... I am in new Zealand...and can not afford to go to the doctor as it is very very expensive...not being on the national healthcare system....so I did the horrible ....self-treatment route of taking the nitrofur...that my urologist had prescribed in the event that I had a UTI....(had this when I was in the USA....but that was more than 2 years ago...) so the medication said to discard 2/4/2014 am I poisoning myself....???? I also have hepatitis C....so I am concerned about all of this...but as I said....I live off a pension ...so I do not have the money to spend hundreds of dollars to see the doctor...and get more medicine....in a bad situation.....coming back to the usa in 3 weeks...but cannot travel sick.....any suggestions....

Hello,

Fungal infection of sinuses suggests immunocompromised state. For the current fungal infection, suitable anti-fungals will have to be taken. However, the underlying cause of immunocompromised state needs to be found out and appropriate treatment needs to be formulated. I suggest you to consult your ENT surgeon for look for underlying cause of immunocompromised state.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
