Suggest Treatment For Sinus Issues And Breathing Difficulty

I have been experiencing sinus problems and related breathing problems which I believe are related to me being allergic to baby aspirin because it seems most severe shortly after taking the baby aspirin. I am taking it for blood thinning because I had a blood clot. I also am experiencing dry eye and am being treated for that. The Dr. was out and I saw a NP which said that it could not be baby aspirin related. Please help because I am seeing an eye Dr. for Dry Eye and yet I believe the allergies are causing sinus and dry eye problems I am scrambling to find a Dr. for alternatives also. I would like to quit baby aspirin but would like an alternative. I have looked online and it does indicated that a small dosage can cause symtoms, correct?

Greetings.
Welcome to Healthcaremagic.
The problems you are stating does seem to be due to allergic sinus issues. There is a possibility of aspirin causing these symptoms but is it the cause of your complaints ? Can't say for sure unless you take an allergen skin test.

There is another way aspirin can cause throat and sinus problems is by causing excessive acid secretion from the stomach which acidifies the whole throat and you have symptoms like sore throat and some times like sinusitis.

There is an alternative blood thinning agent that can be given instead of aspirin and which is use regularly in my clinic is clopidogrel . Which is taken same as aspirin i.e once daily and is 75mg in strength. This will effectively replace aspirin. And if the cause of allergies is due to aspirin in your case then it will be resolved most probably.

I hope the answer was helpful. In case you need any further assistance feel free to contact us in writing .
