Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Saw my local cardiologist today for sinus tachycardia (rate was 150). EKG normal, all labs normal, including TSH. I m 41 year old female, 8 year history of Ulcerative Colitis. Managed well. I always have a bit of a high rate, and it skyrockets due to white coat syndrome (I m an RN too). MD said did not require treatment, which I am fine with as symptoms do not bother me when they occur. Just wanted a 2nd opinion.
As you explain the situation you should also exclude anemia if it is negative than this tachycardia is just do to the fear from the white coat and really doesn't need treatment. Just try to be without stress and avoid caffeine.
Regards
Dr.Jolanda
