Suggest Treatment For Skin Burn After An Electric Shock
Hi I work at a movie theater and last night I was electrocuted by our large sign that we put movie names up on. I was standing on a ladder while holding onto a metal rod and reached up to the sign when I felt a surge of energy run through me and I collapsed onto the door. I have what appears to be a burn line on my hand that goes up my arm and now my hands hurt and feel very tight. My mom is worried if I'm okay but I don't think that you can do anything for being electrocuted in this small of form. Is there?
I am sorry to hear that you got a skin burn following an electric shock. From your description the area affected is small of your hand. The treatment for the burn is to keep that area clean. If you develop blisters then do not rupture those blisters. You may also have suffered some internal damage to the nerves and muscles of the hand. For the pain I recommend use of an NSAID like ibuprofen or Tylenol. If your symptoms worsen then I recommend you consult your doctor for evaluation of additional injuries.
Hope this answers your question. Please contact us again if you have questions or need help.
