Suggest Treatment For Skin Irritation Caused After Tragus Piercing

I got my tragus pierced three months ago and I ve experienced a few keloids but I solved them by popping them. Everything was fine from then on until today, when I woke up it was really itchy so I decided to clean it with some sea salt spray. After cleaning it my tragus began to go all red and it caused me quite a lot of pain, I m confused is it infected or just irritated ? Thank you.

Hi,

As per your query you skin irritation caused after tragus piercing which is normal for few days. Normal piercing take 4-8 week for healing. Sometimes cartilage piercing take little longer time. But in your case, I would suggest you to consult dermatologist for proper checkup and treatment. Doctor may prescribe antibiotics for at least a week and may give triamcinolone injection in keloid. Do not wear anything in ear till they heal properly. Gentle massage with coconut oil.
