Suggest Treatment For Skin Rash On The Leg

I have a skin rash on my leg that won t go away, and now it s spreading. The first Community Dr said it looked like Shingles, but I m 37 and it isn t painful just itchy and burning. Then it went away after I had a Kenalog shot for my allergies, then it came back, looked a little different and the Dermatologist I then went to said it looked like folliculitis (?) and prescribed antibiotic cream and antibiotics but it seems to be getting worse not better. I don t think it is either of those things and I don t know what to do.

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi.
As per your case history of rashes on legs, my treatment advice is -
1. Avoid using steroid like kenalog as it may alter the skin condition.
2. Apply a mild antibiotic cream like fusiderm cream twice daily on it.
3. Take an antihistamine medication like levocetrizine twice daily for 7-10 days.
4. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics like levofloxacin, cefadroxil and azithromycin taken only after consulting a dermatologist.

If problem persists then consult a dermatologist for proper treatment.

Thanks.
