Suggest Treatment For Slight Numbness After An Insect Sting On Toe
I got stung by an insect while outside and I don t know what kind of insect it was. It hurt really bad at first but I iced it and swelling went down. I found no stinger, it was just one little red hole like a pen prick on my toe. I originally thought it was a wasp sting...but then my toe began to feel slightly numb. Do wasp stings cause numbness too? Is that normal?
I can understand your concerns. Yes it is normal way the stings work like this. Actually the stings are made for preying small animals/larva for flesh to be used by wasps. How to catch them? Wasp stings and anesthetic is injected into the nervous system of the prey, paralysing it and making easy for the wasp to carry it to its home where its progeny is also waiting for food.
You need not worry. Take Ibuprofen by mouth and if you feel the wound is getting infected, apply Triple antibiotic topical ointment.
Hope it helps. Have a nice time.
Regards!
