Suggest Treatment For Slight Swelling Beside The Eye
I have a two year old who likes to hop. Yesterday he was hopping close to his sister s bed and he fell against it and now has slight swelling beside one eye and a small red area. I didn t allow him to sleep for at least two hours, and he didn t show any signs of a concussion at that time. This evening, he has had an upset stomach and has thrown up 3-4 times. He has pretty well emptied his stomach, and since about noon, he has not had much of an appetite. Has also been playing with his ears today. We do have others in the house with colds at this time. So, not sure if this is a possible side effect of hitting his cheek/eye area, or if it is the beginning of a flu type thing.
Hello! Thank you for your question. Your two year old son playing with his ears may be a sign of otitis media or infection inside the ears. You should bring him to an eye, ears, nose and throat specialist (E.N.T specialist) so that proper instrument may be used to thoroughly check the ears. Make sure you also place a cold compress within the first 24 hours on the eye that is injured to minimize the swelling. Keep him properly hydrated and check his temperature.
Thank you, Godbless!
