I burnt the top of my mouth with hot soup. Before I realized how hot it was I swallowed the spoonful which contained a carrot. I ate ice for hours and obviously the roof of my mouth feels blistered. But I woke up with a sore throat that feels like when I get a cold: hard to swallow. Did I burn my esophagus? What should I do
Thanks for your query. I have gone through your query. The pain and difficulty in swallowing is because of the burn caused by the hot soup. Nothing to be panic, consult a oral physician and get it evaluated. Mean while you can use topical anesthetic like lignocaine and topical analgesic like choline salicylate. I hope my answer will help you. Take care.
