Suggest Treatment For Small Bulge Below The Sternum

Directly below my sternum there is a small bulge. I can press on it and it feels like it is pushing back into place. If I push down like bearing down and push out in that area the bulge comes back out. It will also just come out while moving regularly. It isn t really painful unless I don t push it back in. I have had it since May. It seems like it is coming out a little more often now.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

First of all, it's sad to know what you had been going through lately. Based on the history you have shared, you need to have an ultrasound of the swelling to rule out any skin layers defects or hernia.

Also, any possibility of lipoma should be ruled out. If cystic or solid content is found, may need a biopsy for reassurance.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
