Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello I m a 18 year old male, I smoke weed, I use tiny amounts of tobacco in the joints. I have tonsil stones and normally check my tonsils, but I had a strange pain in my palatoglossal arch area for a couple of days and checked and noticed, a small flesh coloured bump, it is milimeteres small it hasn t grown for over 3 weeks. I m very concerned if it is cancerous as Im a crazy hypocondriac (Might have spelt that wrong). If stretch my tongue far out my mouth I can see it at the side (connecting to my tongue) I touch it and it doesn t hurt or anything?? Worried, would really like to hear back .
The symptoms seem to be related to stomatitis. It is an inflammation of the lining of the mouth. I suggest to avoid hot beverages and foods as well as salty, spicy, and citrus-based foods. Use pain relievers like Tylenol or ibuprofen. Gargle with cool water or suck on ice pops if you have a mouth burn.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
