General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Your concern is very right, a lipoma is a non-serious accumulation of fats under the skin. They do no cause any major harm. I am afraid that there is no effective medical treatment for lipoma. We generally leave it alone as it does not cause harm, however if somewhere it aches or looks bad then surgical removal is the only way to remove it.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mahboob Ur Rahman, General & Family Physician
