Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi there, I have awoken this morning to find a small lump on the top right of my labia minora, it feels like a pea under the skin, it doesn t hurt unless I put pressure on it, I ve read into it and I think it could be a blocked sebaceous gland, however am very busy working all weekend so will try to hot compress and soak in the bath over the evening. If there is no improvement I will visit my gp Monday morning. Should I be worried? I m meant to be seeing my partner in a week and I only see him every 2months and I dont want it to be painful at this time. Do you know any helpful ways to get rid of it ?
hi i appreciate your concern Looking at your history it seems to be a bartholin cyst it can be caused by an infection, inflammation, or physical blockage (mucus or other impediment) to the Bartholin's ducts (tubes which lead from the glands to the vulva) in my opinion you can take ibuprofen to relieve pain, and a sitz bath Warm compresses can speed healing. If a Bartholin gland abscess develops , the gland and duct can be surgically removed
hope i have answered your question thanks for using HCM good luck
